Islam is a religion, but should be considered a way of life as well.  Submission in this sense means that Muslims recognize that there is only one all-powerful and all-knowing God. Muslims do not recognize Muhammad as a deity, or part of Allah, but just a messenger of Allah.


Muslims submit to Allah by following the framework set forth by the Five Pillars of Islam. Praying five times each day, one of the pillars, is an act that Muslims must practice to remain committed to Allah daily and is a strong example of submission.
